I'm pleased to see that you're still fighting the good fight and striving to make a positive difference for Kansans and the future of our state.
During my time as Governor, your leadership within the House Democrat caucus and willingness to work across party lines was a significant factor in our ability to get both sides to compromise and find common sense solutions to difficult policy issues that were ultimately good for all Kansans.
I will always be appreciative of the dignified manner in which you conducted your Gubernatorial campaign in 1998, focused on issues that would make lives better for each and every Kansan-irrespective of their political persuasion.
I wish you well in your re-election effort and in the challenging task of restoring Kansas standing as a national leader in education, caring for our less fortunate citizens, transportation infrastructure and fiscal management.
