Voting Options

You have three convenient voting options to choose from in Sedgwick County:


1. Vote Early at Home:

To vote early at home you can go online at www.ksvotes.org and complete an an Advance Ballot Application online.  That is the easiest and quickest way.  


You can also click this link: Advance Voting Application and mail or fax it to the Sedgwick County Election office. 


After you complete an application (either online at www.ksvotes.org or by filing out an app and mailing or faxing it in) the election office will mail a ballot to your house where you can mark it in the comfort of your home. They start mailing ballots 20 days before Election Day (October 19, 2022). 


Your voted ballot must be returned to the Election Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day or may be mailed with a postmark of election day (November 8th)  It must arrive in election office by the Friday following the election. 



2. Vote Early in Person:

Go to the Advance Vote Center most convenient for you. You can vote at any of the 17 locations in Sedgwick County.  They will check you in by computer. You can vote on a voting machine or by paper ballot.

The Election Office begins in-person advance voting 15 days before the election (October  24) and continues until 12 Noon the Monday (November 7th) before Election Day. Additional available sites are open the week before Election Day. Nov. 1 to Nov. 4 from 10 am to 7 pm and  Saturday, November 5 from 9 am to 4 pm.


3. Vote at your polling place on Election Day (Tuesday, NOVEMBER 8, 2022):

Polls open at 6 am and close at 7 pm.  You must be in line by 7pm to vote.  You also must go the polling place assigned to your precinct.  In district 95, you vote at one of 5 polling places:

 If you live south of Harry AND east of Seneca you vote at The Macinists Union. If your zip code is 67203 AND you live west of Athenian you vote at the SEIU Union Hall.  If your zip code is 67203 AND you live east of Athenian St. you vote at NEW LIFE Covenant Church.  You vote at Westview Baptist Church if your zip code is 67209.  If your zip code is 67213 you vote at West Side Church of God if you live east of Meridian and at Westview Baptist Church if you live west of Meridian. 


Who is eligible for advance voting?

Any registered voter who wishes to vote in advance of election day is eligible and may apply for an advanced voting ballot. Advance voting begins 20 days before an election. Ballots will be issued until noon the day before elections; however, advance by mail ballots MUST be turned in before polls close on Election Day at 7 pm.  If you need to have someone hand deliver a completed advance ballot to the Sedgwick County election office please call 262-7534. 


What do I need in order to vote in advance?

A signed application is required before an advance ballot can be issued.  You can apply for one quickly and easily online at www.KSvotes.org. 

Applications for elections can be mailed to the Sedgwick County Election Office, 510 N. Main, Suite 101, Wichita, KS 67203.


Where can I get an advance voting application?

 The easiest way is to go to www.ksvotes.org and fill out an application online or you can 

Download an advance voting application or call the Sedgwick County Election Office at 660-7100 to request one. Voters can vote in person in advance 15 days before the scheduled election date (OCTOBER 23RD) at the Sedgwick County Election Office or during Early voting hours at one of 16 satellite voting locations the week prior to the scheduled election date (Tuesday-Saturday prior to November General Elections).


Where do I send my advance voting application?

Signed applications should be mailed to the Election Office at 510 N. Main Street, Suite 101, Wichita, KS 67203.


Where can I get my advance ballot?

Beginning 20 days before the election (Wednesday, October 18), an advance ballot will be mailed to one of three locations, specified by the voter:

  • Voter’s residential address or mailing address
  • Voter’s temporary residential address
  • Medical care facility, psychiatric hospital, hospice or adult care home where the voter resides

A voter can also apply and can vote in advance 13 days before the scheduled election in designated locations.


If returning in person: ballot must be returned by 7:00 PM on Election Day to any polling place within the county or to the county election office to be eligible to be counted.
  

If returning by mail: ballot must be postmarked by Election Day and received by the Friday after the election to be eligible to be counted.
 

The last day the county election office can mail a ballot to a voter is the Tuesday (NOVEMBER 1) before the election.

ADVANCE VOTING CALENDAR

Voting in Kansas is easier than ever. With advance voting, any registered voter can vote by mail or in person before election day.

  • Advance voting application (Español)

  • All ballots must be post-marked on or before Election Day and received no later than three days after the election.
  • Any mailed advance ballot may be hand-delivered to the county election office or any polling place within the county by close of polls on Election Day.
  • Sick, disabled or Non-English Proficient voters may receive assistance in applying for and casting advance voting ballots.

Important 2020 Election Advance Voting Dates:

Wednesday, OCTOBER 18- First day Advance Ballots will be mailed to voters for the general election. 

Monday, October 23 -First day in-person advance voting starts at the Old Historic Courthouse.

  • Tuesday, November 1 - Deadline for voters to apply for advance voting ballots to be mailed for general election. Also the day that advance voting starts at the SEIU 513 Hall, the Machinists Hall and 13 other locations in Sedgwick County. 

  • Monday, November 7- Noon deadline to cast advance voting ballots in person in office of county election office. (first floor, Old Historic Courthouse, 510 N Main St). 

  • Tuesday, November 8th (General Election Day) - Mailed advance voting ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received in the county election office no later than the third day following the election (Friday, November 11).  Advance ballots may be hand-delivered to the county election office or to any polling place within the county by close of the polls on election day, November 8.  If you need someone to pick up an advanced ballot for you and hand-deliver it to the county election office please call 262-7534.
